Still feeling adventurous? You can continue your road trip on to Fall Creek Falls State Park. Located at 2009 Village Camp Road Pikeville, Tennessee, Fall Creek Falls is a lush 20,000-acre paradise that is spread across the eastern part of the Cumberland Plateau.
The park boasts waterfalls, cascades, streams, gorges and verdant stands of virgin hardwood timber. Fall Creek Falls State Park is covered mostly in oak and hickory trees; but on the gorges the ground is littered with poplar and hemlock forests. Mountain laurel and rhododendron can also be found in abundance throughout the park. If you're not really into roughing it, you'd be pleased to know that Fall Creek Falls has several lodging options including camps, cabins, an inn, group camp and group lodge. It also has a restaurant. You can enjoy your meal at one of the park's many picnic areas. Practice your swing at the Par 72, 18-hole golf course; hike along 34-miles of trails; fish the 345-acre Fall Creek Falls Lake; or swim in the Olympic-sized swimming pool or the wading pool. Fall Creek Falls even has a Conference Center and Meeting Rooms with 5,000-square feet of meeting and banquet space. It's no wonder that the park has been named best state park in the Southeastern United States.
