Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park
History buffs would surely love Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Here you can view the entire state of Tennessee via a 200-foot granite map of the state. Take a stroll on the walkway to see all of its 95 counties or see the 31 fountains that represent the major rivers of the state. Learn all about the state’s rich history and watch rangers reenact characters from the state’s history such as Davey Crockett, Alvin C. York and soldiers of Tennessee's past wars. You can also check out the 95-bell carillon, the World War II Memorial, and the Court of Three Stars.
George Dickel Distillery
Wine connoisseurs and enthusiasts will have a great time touring George Dickel’s distillery. Learn about its time-honored traditions and find out all about George Dickel’s award-winning whiskey and the secrets to its success. Check out the visitors’ center and see some fine antiques and special mementos. You can also visit the distillery’s very own U.S. Post Office - the only working post office at any distillery in the USA.
The Grand Ole Opry Museum
The Grand Ole Opry pays homage to the world’s longest-running radio show and its stars by displaying exhibits honoring legendary artists like Patsy Cline and Marty Robbins. These exhibits also showcase today’s top performers, tracing the careers of Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and many others.
Music City Walk of Fame
Tennessee has its own version of California’s Hollywood Walk of Fame for artists who have contributed to the growth of the musical art form. The Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville’s Music Mile honors brilliant and productive artists who are connected to Music City. If you want to feel the long history of music in Nashville, the Music City Walk of Fame is definitely the place to go to.
Artists who have their names on the Music City Walk of Fame include Elvis Presley, Jimi Hendrix, Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd and more. Induction ceremonies are held twice a year, in April and November and are free and open to the public.
